LARRY HARREL HOGLEN

CANDLER – Larry Harrel Hoglen , age 67, passed away on Sunday, April 2, 2017 at the VA Center in Asheville.

A native of Buncombe County, he was the son of the late Harrel Clifton Hoglen and Willa Dean Roberson Hoglen. He was also preceded in death by a son, Bradley Lane Hoglen.

He was a Vietnam veteran in the US Air Force. Larry was owner and operator of Hominy Valley Auto Parts. Larry enjoyed working on cars, being outdoors, NASCAR and racing drag cars. He was a member of Snow Hill United Methodist Church.

He was survived by his wife of 43 years, Nancy Wells Hoglen; two sons, Brian Hoglen and Brandon Hoglen of Candler; a brother, Edward Hoglen of Candler; three grandchildren, Abigail Hoglen, Katelyn Montgomery and Rhys Hoglen.

Funeral services were held at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 8, 2017 at Snow Hill United Methodist Church with the Reverend Diana Johnston officiating. Burial followed at Snow Hill United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family received friends from 7:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Friday at Wells Funeral Home of Canton.
