Born in Kingston, daughter of the late Louis Fredrick and Mary Ada (Murphy) Lauer, Ann graduated from high school and began a lifelong career as a secretary for numerous employers. She worked for the Navy in Washington, D.C., the VA Medical Center in Wilkes-Barre, IBM in Scranton, Pharmacon Consulting in Waverly, and retired from the University of Scranton. She was a longtime member of Our Lady of the Snows Parish and was very proud to be a loving wife, mother and grandmother.
The family would like to thank Allied Skilled Nursing, especially the staff on 3 North, as well as Dr. Gilhooley for their compassionate care during Ann's illness.
In addition to her husband, Paul, Ann is survived by her three sons, Mark and wife, Lisa, Lansdale; Jeff and wife, Anne-Marie, South Abington Twp.; and Brian, Wilkes-Barre; a sister, Mary Lou Lapallo, Alexandria, Va.; a brother, Louis Lauer and wife, Elizabeth, Reading; two grandchildren, Samuel and Alex; and several nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by a sister, Carolyn Gallagher.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday at 9:30 a.m. at the Church of St. Benedict, 1849 Newton-Ransom Blvd., Clarks Summit. Interment with Rite of Committal will follow at St. Catherine's Cemetery, Covington Twp.
Viewing will be Thursday from 8:30 a.m. until the time of Mass at the church. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Brian Arthur Strauch Funeral Home and Cremation Services LLC in Spring Brook Twp.
