Ken was active in local politics for the farming community. He suffered a heart attack and had to slow down. The doctor told him to take up a calming hobby, so Jean taught him how to crochet. He even won a ribbon at the County fair. He provided my dad with turkey manure, which enabled him to have the most fertile soil and a huge vegetable garden. Even after Ken retired he still had some turkeys and cows. He and Jean celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in 1997. They had 5 granddaughters: Jessica, Lacy, Nicolette, Jennifer and Kaylyn and many great grandsons and great granddaughters.
