BERNT - Mrs. Oswald (Barbara) Bernt, 55, died this morning at the Genoa Haven where she had been a patient the last seven years.
The Rev. Laurin Buzynski will officiate at the funeral rites, 10:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Anthony Catholic Church. Burial will be in St. Bonaventure Cemetery.
Rosary service is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at McKown Funeral Home, where the body will lie in state after 1 p.m. Wednesday.
Born April 12, 1921 in Columbus, she was the daughter of John P. and Mary (Smagacz) Mimick and a graduate of St. Bonaventure High School.
On April 12, 1948 she married Oswald E. Bernt Jr. at St. Anthony Catholic Church. He died in May, 1970.
Surviving are five children, Edward, Timothy, Joseph, Mrs. Robert N. (Janet) Long and Mrs. Benny (Susan) Noyd, all of Columbus; mother, Mrs. John (Mary) Mimick of Columbus; sisters, Mrs. Al (Veronica) Pawoll of Omaha, Mrs. Adam (Kathryn) Dubas of Grand Island, Mrs. John (Martha) Stachura of Columbus, Mrs. Harry (Margaret) Griffin of Washington, Kan.; two grandchildren.
Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Thomas; daughters, Mary Lou and Mary Alice in infancy; and her father.
