Samuel Leslie Carter, Age 86, Passed away Wednesday May 3, 2017 at the Medical Center in Bowling Green, Kentucky. He was Born May 22, 1930 in Monroe County Kentucky., to the Late Joe Harrison Carter and Mae Walden Carter Clark.



On September 5, 1954, He was United in Marriage to the former Dixie Butler. He was a Member of the Rock Bridge Missionary Baptist Church. He was a Retired Teacher and Principal for the Monroe County Board Of Education, A Farmer, Member of Monroe County Retired Teachers Association, A Korean Army Veteran and a Member of the V F W.



Survivors are; Four Daughters, Dr. Brenda ( Gary ) Walden, Linda ( Jim ) Cooper, Loretta ( Cliff ) Stephens and Leslie Kay ( Brett ) Miles. Ten Grandchildren and Eleven Great-Grandchildren.



Preceded in death by His Parents, His Wife, Dixie Butler Carter and his Brother, Dr. Bruce Carter.


Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 P. M. Saturday May 6, 2017 in Chapel of Strode Funeral Home in Tmpkinsville.


Burial in Skaggs Creek Cemetery, with Military Rites performed at the Graveside, by D A V chapter 20 of Glasgow.
