Jorge Pasamonte Aguinaldo, a loving and devastatingly handsome husband, father, grandfather, dialysis nurse, and one of the most amazing, selfless and kind-hearted persons to ever walk the earth, passed away Friday, March 31, 2017 at age 62 in Waukegan, Illinois.
He was born in Manila, Philippines on January 31, 1955 to Carmelo Pilar Aguinaldo and Silveria Paa Pasamonte. He had six half siblings, Edgardo Perona M.D., Antonio Perona, Wilson Aguinaldo, Bong Aguinaldo, Edwardo Aguinaldo, and Loida Aguinaldo.
Jorge graduated from Manila Central University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing in 1974. He was a proud brother of the ΑΦΩ fraternity. While attending university in 1977, he met the love of his life, Vivian (Flaviana) Aguinaldo. He won her over with his good looks, luscious wavy hair, stylish attire, compassionate charm, and sense of humor. From there they began their lifelong adventure -- boarding their first airplane and immigrating to the United States in pursuit of the American Dream. They later married in 1988.
Upon arriving to the US and driven by his adventurous spirit, he went on countless spontaneous and last-minute road trips with his wife and children. These trips often had little to no planning, and he hit the road with nothing more than a map and his family packed in the car, letting chance, freedom and spontaneity guide their adventure to wherever the winds took them; South Dakota, Montana, Florida, Canada, New York, Nashville, etc. On the road he discovered his love for camping and fishing trips around the country in his pop up camper, where he would often chase his wife with worms while the whole family laughed.
Jorge had a deep love for live music and attended numerous concerts with his wife, including Bon Jovi, Paul McCartney, Fleetwood Mac, and Journey. This love for music drove him to be the life and voice of every karaoke party, picking up microphones and belting out the great hits of the 70s, 80s and 90s (not always in tune), singing with the same passion even when simply driving down the highway.
He was a man of simple taste, and what he enjoyed most in life was spending time with his beloved family. Throughout his life, Jorge was the definition of a truly loving, affectionate, and generous family man. For 29 years he showered his wife, Vivian, with endless love, affection and support; to his very last day, he was still madly in love with her, frequently taking her out on date nights and flirting & tickling her as they laid on the couch watching TV. With limitless amounts of love, strength, hard work and passion, he gave his three children a perfect childhood filled with affection, loving banter, important life lessons, and amazing memories, all while successfully putting them through college. On days he would babysit his grandchild Rhys, he would drive to pick him up and take him to his home to cook Rhys’s favorite breakfast (french toast, eggs, and sausage) followed by a full day of fun at the museums.
His other loves and favorite activities included making inappropriate jokes, piloting drones and helicopters, eating Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups, cooking, golfing, driving his Porsche convertible, curating saltwater aquariums, poking endless fun at his wife, and babysitting his grandson, Rhys. Jorge looked forward to the summer of 2017 when he could finally take Rhys on camping, fishing, and road trips -- passions he had enjoyed introducing his kids and their loved ones to. He leaves Rhys with an unfinished saltwater aquarium, a project he was looking forward to completing on Rhys’s 2nd birthday, the day Jorge passed.
Jorge will be sorely missed by all those that knew him, and we pray that he rests in peace in the hands of God.
Jorge is survived by his wife, three children, Mark Aguinaldo (Jennifer) (34) and their son, Rhys (2), Andrew Aguinaldo (25), and Jennifer Aguinaldo (23).
