Udo Rummel, 98, 3501 Dakota Ave., South Sioux City, former president of the State Bank of Dows, Iowa, died Friday at a Sioux City nursing home after suffering an apparent heart attack. Mr. Rummel served as president of the bank at Dows for 25 years until 1932.
He was born Aug. 6, 1871, at Alden, Iowa, and lived there until he was 18 years old when he moved to Dows. He attended Des Moines Business College. After extensive travel, Mr. Rummel moved to Sioux City and later to South Sioux City. His wife of 58 years, the former Nora McLuin, died Jan. 11, 1951. He is survived by a sister, Mrs. George Heather of Sioux City.
Graveside services will be at p.m. Sunday in Fairview Cemetery at Dows. Burial will be under direction of the Bob Becker Home for Funerals of South Sioux City.
