ARCADIA—Conrad Huelshorst, 99, a retired farmer, died Saturday, October 2, at St. Anthony Nursing Home in Carroll, where he had been a resident since 1979.
Mass of the Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a m. Tuesday, October 5, at St. John church in Arcadia with the Rev. C. A. Ahmann as celebrant.
Serving as casket bearers will be Vernis Juergens, Elmer Juergens, Ed Bueltel, Duane Boeckman, Othmer Boeckman and Jim Millenacker. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.
Visitation at the Twit Funeral Home, in Carroll, will be after 2:30 p.m. Monday. Rosaries will be recited at the funeral Home Monday at 3 and 8 p.m.
Mr. Huelshorst is survived by a son Gene Huelshorst, Carroll; daughters Mrs. Ray (Regina) Ludwig, Arcadia, and Mrs. Henry (Teresa) Berns, Chebanse, IU.; 12 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, sons Francis and Vincent; a daughter Angela in infancy; four brothers and four sisters.
Mr. Huelshorst was born June 13, 1883, in Westphalia, Germany, a son of, Henry and Margaret (Rehker) Huelshorst. He was married to Lena Bergman on September 4, 1910, at Arcadia. He received his education at St. John school in Arcadia. He retired from farming in 1964.
