Joseph F. Beebe, 88
Joseph F. Beebe, 88, of Bigfork and former resident of Hot Springs, died Wednesday in Kalispell Regional Hospital. He operated a building supply store in Hot Springs.
Mr. Beebe was born Feb. 9, 1888 in Vicksburg, Mich. He received his education there and as a young man moved to Bigfork where he lived two years. He married Clara B. Iverson in Kalispell on July 2, 1913. They later moved to Hot Springs.
Mr. Beebe was employed as a bookkeeper for the Hot Springs Lumber Co. for 27 years, following World War I, when he worked in the shipyards in Tacoma.
He started the Beebe Building Supply Co. in 1948 in Hot Springs and operated the El Rancho Motel in Hot Springs, which they built in 1955. He kept books for various firms in Hot Springs.
He was a member of the Presbyterian Church in Hot Springs, Algeria Temple of the Shrine, Helena, and Hot Springs Lodge #153 A.F.&A.M.
Surviving, besides his widow at home are two daughters, Mrs. Thomas F. (Frankie) Smith of Bigfork and Mrs. Gust (Marian) Dickson of Spokane; his sister, Cynthia Beebe of Seal Beach, Calif.; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in the Weatherford Funeral Home with the Rev. Ron Pierce, pastor of the Swan Lake Chapel and members of Hot Springs Lodge #153 A.F.&A.M., officiating.
Burial will follow in Conrad Memorial Cemetery. The family suggests memorials to the Shriner's Crippled Children's Hospital of Spokane.
