James C. Magruder, 76, of Gilmore died Friday, April 7, 2017.
Born on March 2, 1941 in Barton he was the son of the late James and Leona (Fazenbaker) Magruder.

He was preceded in death by his first wife Alma (Mackley) Magruder, a son Bradley Jones, a granddaughter Elizabeth Magruder and his brother Marshall Magruder.

Jim was a heavy equipment operator in his early years, being well known for working 16 hour shifts. He then went into logging and has been employed by Western Maryland Lumber since 1986. Jim was known to so many as “Uncle” and took great pride in offering his wisdom to his nephews and other guys at work.
He enjoyed fixing chainsaws and tinkering in his garage.
He loved cooking fudge for family gatherings and everyone looked forward to bickering over who got the last piece. He will be remembered as a good man who loved his family.

He is survived by his beloved wife Betsy (Wilson) Magruder; son Jimmy Magruder and wife Lori of Avilton; daughter Jennifer Hughes and husband Jeff of Midlothian; four grandchildren Cody and Kristin Hughes and Madilynn and Molly Magruder; sister Donna Wilhelm and husband Dallas of Barton and numerous family and friends.

Family and friends will be received at the Wilhelm-Eakin Funeral Home, P.A., Midland on Sunday, April 9, 2017 from 5PM - 8PM.
A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Monday, April 10, 2017 at 11:00AM with Rev. Otis Lancaster officiating.
Interment will be held at Laurel Hill Cemetery, Moscow Mills. Expressions of sympathy can be directed to the family at www.wilhelmeakin.com.

Pallbearers will be Tim, Timmy, Travis and Clinton Wilhelm, Trevor Bogie and Jesse Pope.
