Published in the Portland Press Herald on March 1, 1959. AUGUSTA -- Mrs. Mary Ellen Eagles, 78, of Columbus Ave., South Portland, died in a local hospital here after a long illness, February 16. Mrs. Eagles, the widow of Alexander F., was born in St. John, NB, the daughter of James and Catherine Hanley. She is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Irene Close, Westwood, Mass., Mrs. Lillian Geraghty, South Portland and Mrs. Mary Carters, Elsinore, Mo. Interment was in Calvary Cemetery.
