Fiona Kim Newman, 16, died Wednesday morning, April 5, 2017, in
Holbrook. She was the daughter of Shannon Newman. She was
preceded in death by her father, William Newman, several years earlier.

Fiona was born in 2000 in Arizona, and Shannon and Bill took her into their
home in December 2009. After a long process, Fiona was officially
adopted in August 2011. Shannon and Bill gave Fiona all of the love and
care any parents could.

Fiona will be deeply missed by her friends. She leaves a small, but tight
and supportive extended family, who are deeply grieved by this sudden and
tragic loss.

She was excited to start on the road to independence and recently began a
part-time job. Fiona was passionate in her love of music. She also enjoyed
dancing and was an avid fan of Harry Potter.

Fiona’s extended family includes her mother, Shannon Newman;
her aunt, Beth Zimmerman; and two uncles, Jeff Zimmerman and Doug Zimmerman. They all miss her greatly and are grateful for the way she has touched their lives through the lessons they’ve learned from her.

Donations may be made in her memory to the Navajo County Friends of
CASA or the Friends of the Holbrook Animal Shelter.

Owens Livingston Mortuary of Holbrook was in charge of the arrangements.

Fiona’s biological mother was Sarah LeeAnn Davidson. Sarah’s mother is a Gathings.
