Kilroy, Walter “Wally” P. of Braintree, passed away April 10, 2017.

Walter was born in Boston, grew up in Dorchester and later spent time living in both Quincy and Braintree. He proudly served in the United States Army during WWII. He worked for the Boston Gas Company for 31 years mostly as a gas fitter. Walter loved to garden and he was especially known for his tomatoes. He also loved sports and was a fan of all of the Boston sports teams. He always went out of his way to watch his grandchildren’s sporting events, graduations and any other event he could attend. They were the cornerstone of his life. Walter will be remembered for his quick wit, hard work, and the love that he always showed his family. He will be sadly missed.

Loving husband to the late M. Louise Kilroy. Cherished father to William Kilroy and his wife Maureen of Weymouth, Susan Kilroy and her husband Robert McDevitt of Chestnut Hill, and Brian Kilroy and his wife Jacqueline of Sudbury. Brother to Florence Brown of Arlington, and the late James Kilroy, Arthur Kilroy, Robert Kilroy. Loving Grandpa to Michael, Kimberly, Alexey and Ivan Kilroy. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Monday 4-8 PM in the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St., QUINCY. A Celebration of Life Service will be held in the funeral home at 9:45 AM on Tuesday prior to the Funeral Mass in St. Ann’s Church, Quincy at 10:30 AM. Burial in Blue Hill Cemetery, Braintree
