Dennis was born on April 23, 1948 in Ludington, Michigan to Verner and Doris (Wilson) Anderson. He had resided in the Mt. Morris area the past 36 years. He was a 1971 graduate of Michigan State University having received a Masters Degree in Music. He was also in the Michigan State Marching Band from 1968-1970. Dennis married Julie Dreffs on December 27, 1969. He was employed with the Mt. Morris Schools as the High School Band Director for 34 years, retiring in 2005. He was a member of Saints Charles & Helena Catholic Church, the Strolling Spartans, the MSBOA and the Clio Country Club. Dennis enjoyed golfing, fishing, gardening and reading. He was also an avid Michigan State fan.
Surviving are: wife, Julie; daughter, Emily (Dave) Desrochers of Holt; father, Verner (Jeanie) Anderson of Ludington; sister, Christine (Michael) Hathaway of Zeeland, MI; father-in-law, Harry Dreffs of Clio; niece, Lisa (Dan) Boers; great nephew, Dmitry Boers; his dogs, Abbie, Sam and Mulligan.
