Alice Aker Holman, 104, of Marion, passed away Monday, July 7, 1997, in the Francis Marion Manor Nursing Home. She was the wife of Daniel Cleveland Holman.

Mrs. Holman was preceded in death by five children, John B. Holman, Glenn Holman, Monroe E. Holman, William C. Holman, and Frieda Siegert.

Survivors include three daughters and one son-in-law, Mrs. Emma Henderlite, Atkins, Mr. and Mrs. B.C. (Myrtle) Thompson, Radford, Mrs. Elizabeth Wahl, Aliquippa, Pa.; two sisters and one brother-in-law, Lenoir Pennington, Marion, Josephine and Howard Ansett, Baltimore, Md.; one daughter-in-law, Manza Holman, Marion. Also surviving are 16 grandchildren; 44 great-grandchildren; eight great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and all her friends at Francis Marion Manor.

Funeral services for Mrs. Holman will be conducted Wednesday, July 9, at 11 a.m. from the Barnett's Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Neville Mozingo and Reverend Grady Byrd officiating. Interment will follow in Rosewood Memorial Gardens in Rural Retreat. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home. Barnett's Funeral Home, Marion, is handling the arrangements.
