Willard “Bill” Thomas Baum, 69, of Parkersburg, W.Va., passed away Thursday, April 13, 2017, after a long illness.

He was born in Parkersburg on July 4, 1947, to Willard H. Baum and Barbara M. Baum.

Bill was a graduate of PHS and was a proud U.S. Navy veteran. He was retired from the Bureau of Public Debt, a radio personality with KIX-103 as Jerry Thomas and former manager of General Cinemas. He was a proud representative of NTEU at Bureau of Public Debt. He enjoyed spending time with friends and family, especially enjoyed his trips to Holden Beach, N.C.

He is survived by two sons and two daughters, Tom Russell (Colleen), Missy Harper (Mike), Christina Baum (Mike Dye) and Eric Baum; many loved grandchildren; two sisters, Barbara Sams (Don) and Diane Helmick; and many nieces and nephews. Bill had very many friends that were a special part of his life.

There are no plans for a funeral service, as Bill donated his body to the West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine. Anyone who knows the story of Bill knows that is a gift indeed.

A celebration of his life is in the works and will be announced at a later date.
