WIFE OF GUNNOE, LARRY RAY
RM1 US COAST GUARD

Marlene Gunnoe passed away on Friday, January 20, 2017, surrounded by members of her loving family. Marlene was born in Caldwell on June 29, 1939 to Mildred and Basil Cobble and spent much of her childhood in Kennewick, Washington where she met the man who would ultimately become her husband and partner for life, Larry Gunnoe.

Marlene and Larry wed in 1956 and began a marriage that would span nearly 61 years. A year after they were married, Marlene gave birth to their first daughter, Lori. After two years living separately while Larry was deployed at various US Coast Guard stations in Alaska, the family moved to Louisiana for Larry's final year of service. Marlene gave birth to their second daughter, Kelli, after moving back to Washington for Larry's studies at Washington State University. Marlene helped support the family as an office manager for an ophthalmology practice in Kennewick and at a paving company in Pullman.

After finishing up at WSU, the Gunnoes moved to Petaluma, California where they welcomed their third daughter, Robin, to the family. Marlene was thrilled to move to Boise, Idaho in 1968 when Larry started his career with Idaho Power. During their 30 years with the company, Marlene established lifelong friendships that would come to define many of her fondest memories. Marlene and Larry split their working years between two early assignments in Boise and two in Pocatello before spending their final years in Boise. Marlene continued her bookkeeping work in various roles and enjoyed volunteering in numerous organizations with the Boise Assistance League being the one she held most dear.

Marlene was a talented artist and a not so talented cross country skier. She loved the simple pleasures in life including quiet summers in Sun Valley, family vacations in Hawaii, musicals, humming birds and time with her four grandsons. She is survived by her husband Larry Gunnoe, her sister Marilyn Hager and her husband, Vic, her daughters and their husbands Lori and Jay Gaskill, Kelli and Doug Downing and Robin and Kent Ivanoff. Marlene's greatest joys were her grandsons Gabriel and Lucky Gaskill and Nicholas and Matthew Ivanoff.

There will be no funeral services at Marlene's request.
