Marguerite was commonly known as Rite. She grew up in Rocky Ford, Colorado. Rite graduated from Loretto Heights College in Denver and went on to be an educator for 35 years. While at college, her best friend set her up on a blind date. She went on to marry her friend's brother, Andy Lachowsky on December 28, 1942. They spent their married life in Colorado Springs on a small ranch. Rite was gentle, but firm whether it was dealing with the diverse livestock on the ranch or with her children. One daughter, Rita Marie, died in infancy and is also buried here at Evergreen. Her remaining 5 children are scattered all over the country. But she has always been a strong bond that kept them close even when the miles separated them.
