Betty Jo Stroud, 83, of Poplar Bluff, Mo., passed away Monday, April 17, 2017 at Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center.

Betty, the daughter of the late John A. and Mable Scott Riepe, was born Nov. 1, 1933 in Butler County. She was a member of the First Assembly of God, and was a homemaker. Betty enjoyed crafts, cooking and canning, but being with her family is what she cherished most.

On June 4, 1955, Betty married the love of her life, Chester L. Stroud in Holly Springs, Miss. He survives.

Other survivors include t wo children, Lennis (Laura) Stroud of Puxico and Debbie (Tony) Arnold of Poplar Bluff; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; a brother, John Riepe of Broseley; and two sisters, Amy (Jack) Maxwell of Mesa, Ariz. and Billie Bates of Poplar Bluff.

A daughter, Daronda Neal, a sister, Juanita Stevenson and a brother, Eddie Riepe also preceded Betty in death.

Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Cotrell Funeral Chapel in Poplar Bluff with the funeral service following at 11 a.m. Pastor Dusty Stroud will officiate and Rev. T. J. Woodard will assist. Burial will be at Brown Chapel Cemetery in Broseley.
