--The grand parents of Mr Patrick, are Jeremiah and Sallie Blair, were of Irish Origin, coming to what is now Magoffin from the State of Virginia in 1800.
--They were among the first settlers of Magoffin Cty and helped run out the Indians.
--In 1902, Mr Patrick was elected Sheriff of Magoffin Cty and was widely known as the only sheriff who ever made all his arrests without the use of a gun.
--He has been active in politics all his life and even now is greatly interested in both state and national politics.
--He has been a member of the Methodist Church of Salyersville for more than sixty yrs and has always been a loyal supporter and contributor.
--The Patrick family has always been one of the most prominent families in Magoffin County and held a leading place in social, civic and religious affairs.
--Mr Patrick has seven living children.
--He lives on Maple Street in Salyersville and enjoys meeting his many friends who stop daily to converse with him
