Deseret News (Salt Lake City), Nov 16, 2003
1927 ~ 2003
Mary Louise Adamson Bezzant passed away November 14, 2003 of congestive heart failure.
Mary was born on July 10, 1927 in Pleasant Grove, Utah to John Milton and Thelma Melvina Adamson. She spent her childhood in Pleasant Grove where she attended school and was crowned Miss Strawberry Days Queen. She loved school, especially reading, and attended one year at Brigham Young University. She married Eugene Smith Bezzant in the Salt Lake Temple on June 26, 1946.
Together they established a home in Pleasant Grove filled with love and laughter. As a child, Mary had rheumatic fever, and in spite of the doctor's prediction that she could never have children, she and Eugene welcomed seven children into their home.
Mary was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She loved the Lord and served Him in a variety of church callings over the years. She had a strong testimony of the Gospel and shared it with all she knew. Mary was a good friend to all who knew her. Her life was one of service and her legacy is one of family and faith. She loved gardening, reading, decorating for the holidays and visiting with friends, but most of all she loved her family. She blessed her family with unconditional love and constant encouragement. You could recognize her by her ready laugh and generous spirit.
Mary is survived by her loving husband of 57 years, Eugene "Jim"; their seven children, John (Christina), Mark (Colleen), Carolyn (Parry) Merkley, VA, Kathleen (Randy) Fowles, Nancy (Robert) West, Paul, Layton, Ray (Christine), CO; brother, Kenneth Adamson; 26 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Grandma Mary will be missed by all!
Funeral will be held Tuesday, November 18, 2003 at 11 a.m. in the Grovecreek Second Ward Chapel, 700 E. 500 N, Pleasant Grove. Friends may call Monday evening from 6-8 p.m. at Olpin Family Mortuary, 494 S. 300 E, Pleasant Grove and at the church on Tuesday one hour prior to services. The family wishes to thank Dr. Duros and the staff at Timpanogos Hospital and Orchard Park Care Center for their care and concern on their mother's behalf.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to ward missionary funds.
