Kala Christine Brown IS the daughter of Teri and Roger Race, and Tim and Pam Brown. Kala was a senior at North Cobb High School where she was involved in many activities including softball, track and field, the mentoring program for other teenagers, Women of Destiny, chorus, the Class of 2007 Activities, the Principals Advisory Board, and the Adventure Club. Kala was also named 2003-2004 Who's Who Among American High School Students. She had been accepted to Kennesaw State University, Georgia Southern and the State University of West Georgia. Kala had planned to attend Kennesaw State University and pursue a degree in Psychiatry with an emphasis on counseling children and teenagers. In addition to being a full time, very active, high school senior, Kala also worked a full time job. The world lost much on Jan 2, 2007 when Kala's human experience tragically ended.

No one paragraph can fully describe the uniqueness and incredibleness of Kala. Kala is far more valuable than mere words can convey. Her family and friends know and miss her wonderful light, companionship, friendship, wisdom, laughter, smile, generosity, curiousity, selflessness, and her genuine love of life and all those whom she came in contact with.

Kala had worked hard and achieved great goals during the last year of her earthly life. One of those goals was purchasing herself a new car for her upcoming 18th birthday. On Jan 2, 2007, Kala and three friends meet for a fun night of pizza and bowling. On the way to the bowling alley, another vehicle changed lanes at the same time Kala was merging onto the interstate forcing her off the road and causing two precious children, Kala, and Stephen Suggs, to lose their lives. So many lives changed drastically and permanantly in that moment.

Kala is NOT dead, for there is no death, but rather Kala LIVES in truth and spirit eternally sharing her love with those who have eyes to see, ears to hear, and a heart open to accepting her as she is now. Knowing this does not erase the pain of losing her, but it helps strengthen our resolve to live WITH Kala and FOR Kala to the best of our ability for the rest of our human experiences.

LOVE, LIGHT, and PEACE to all who know and love Kala Christine Brown. This is her message, LOVE IS ALL THAT MATTERS. Live in LOVE.
