Doris A. (Laforte) Laberge, 91, of Manchester, formerly of St. Petersburg, FL, died February 20, 2011 after a period of declining health.
She was born in Lynn, MA on February 20, 1920, the daughter of Raoul and Amelia (Fontaine) Laforte. She was educated in the local school system. She had resided in Florida for 30 years before moving back to the area two years ago.
Prior to retirement, she had been employed as a dental assistant with Dr. David Stahl in Manchester.
Doris loved to paint, read, and play shuffleboard. She also loved to play cards and was the editor of her local seniors’ newspaper for many years.
Her husband Leopold J. Laberge died in 2006.
Family members include two daughters, Suzanne Noyes of Manchester and Mrs. Michael (Jeannine) Thomas of Manchester; one son, David Laberge and wife Micheline of Sarasota, FL; 14 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.
A memorial Mass of Christian burial was celebrated on Friday, February 25, 2011 in the chapel at Mt. Carmel Nursing Home. Burial will be in Mt. Calvary Cemetery at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Mt. Carmel Rehabilitation and Nursing Center, 235 Myrtle St, Manchester, NH 03104 or to Catholic Charities of NH, 215 Myrtle St, Manchester, NH 03104.
