Bertha (Osborn) Ackerman Drury, 81 of Grangeville passed away Tuesday, April 18, 2017, at the Grangeville Health and Rehab Center. She was born to Roy and Luella Osborn in Essex, Montana on April 2, 1936.
She was raised on Texas Ridge in Deary, Idaho. She married Francis Ackerman in 1953 and together they had five children. Francis passed away in 1967.
Bertha married Philip Drury in 1978. Philip passed away in 1990.
Bertha worked various jobs in Grangeville including Coast to Coast and the Idaho Country Free Press. She was a member of Saints Peter and Paul Parish and belonged to several women's groups through the years. Some of her most enjoyable memories were family gatherings at her house including Fourth of July barbeques and Christmas Day celebrations. She always had her cookie jar full and looked forward to visits from her grandchildren. Her hobbies included painting, sewing, and crafting.
She is preceded in death by her husbands, Francis and Philip, five brothers; Ronald, Robert, Milford, Wendell, and Clifford and two sisters, Geraldine Carmen and Sharon Swicher.
A viewing will be held Friday, May 5, 2017, from 3:00 to 6:00 pm at the Blackmer Funeral Home in Grangeville. A rosary will be held Saturday, May 6, 2017, at 10:30 at the Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church. Mass of Christian burial will follow at 11:00 am.
Burial will take place at Prairie View Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of the Blackmer Funeral Home of Grangeville. Send condolences to the family at Blackmerfuneralhome.com.
