ELIZABETH CORN, one of the oldest and most highly respected ladies of Augusta, died Tuesday morning at the home of her sister, Mrs. Ann Laswell. She was 86 years old and the widow of Dave Corn who died some twelve years ago. Surviving her is three daughters, Mrs. Speaker Richardson, Mrs. Jason Hemenway and Mrs. Joe Lee and one brother, Nelson Laswell. She was a good woman and will be mourned by the entire community. The funeral service was conducted Wednesday at eleven o'clock. The remains were laid to rest at the old cemetery at Augusta.

1900 census living in the Village of Augusta, Lockhart Township, Pike County, employed as a weaver, widow, 7 children born 4 living, birth March 1828 Kentucky age 72. Living with her grandsons, Otto and Lewis McClure, and sister Malissa A. Laswell. Also living nearby are several McClure, Miller and Chandler families.

Applied for the widow's Civil War pension on May 12, 1899.
