Gerlean Bennett Gadd, 81, of Cool Ridge, W.Va., died on March 2, 1998, in the Raleigh General Hospital, Beckley, W.Va., after a short illness.

She was born on Sept. 7, 1916, in Raleigh County, W.Va., a daughter of William Haley Bennett and wife Roxie May Plumley Bennett.

Mrs. Gadd was a homemaker and attended Shady Spring Pentecostal Holiness Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband John Robert Bragg in 1950; husband Noah Levi Gadd Sr. in 1967; and several sisters and brothers.

Mrs. Gadd was survived by two sons, Robert "Jimmy" Bragg of Cool Ridge, and the Rev. Davy C. Bennett of Akron, Ohio; three daughters, Mary Bragg Lawson and Helen Bragg Stauffacher, both of Beckley, and Margie Bragg Evans of Glen White, W.Va.; two brothers, Ellas Bennett of Shady Spring, W.Va., and Amos Bennett of Beckley; two sisters, Banna Bennett and Gertrude Plumley, both of Abraham, W.Va.; 10 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were at Rose & Quesenberry Funeral Home, Beckley, with the Rev. Franklin Adkins officiating. Burial was in the New Salem Baptist Church Cemetery, Abraham.
