An NCPedia article, written by Max R. Williams in 1986, stated that "George Franklin (1794 - 1827), a physician of Shelby County, Tenn., who died of yellow fever" was among the 11 children of Revolutionary Soldier, Politician and Iron Entrepreneur Joseph Graham (1759-1836) of North Carolina, and his wife, Isabella Davidson Graham.
