Louis W. Cesero, age 89 of 28 MAGNOLIA Trumbull, a retired employee of Dupont and People's Bank, died on Tuesday, October 26, 2010 at St. Vincent Medical Center. Born in Bridgeport on September 29, 1921, he was a son of the late Angelo and Giovanna D'Agostino Cesero. A U. S. Army veteran of World War II, he served from the summer of 1942 to November of 1945. He fought in Italy and Africa. He was wounded in combat and was awarded the Purple Heart and Bronze Star. He was one of only ten men to survive a mission from a company of 200. Mr. Cesero was an avid New York Yankees fan and enjoyed watching baseball with his son, and son-in-law, and playing catch with his grandsons. He got great pleasure from watching his granddaughters dance. He will be fondly remembered for his kind and gentle nature. He will be sadly missed. Survivors include his beloved wife of 46 years, Rose Marie DeFeo Cesero; five children, nine grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, as well as many nieces and nephews. He was pre-deceased by brothers, Anthony, Angelo Jr., Patrick, William, Carmine and James Cesero and sisters, Catherine Crudele, Sarah Naples, Celia Farino and Mary Florentino, as well as a brother, Joseph and a sister, Catarina Cesero, both of whom died in infancy. The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the caregivers at Maefair Health Care Center for their caring and compassion. Funeral services will take place on Saturday, October 30, 2010 at 9 a.m. from the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull, and in Our Lady of Good Counsel Church, Bridgeport for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m.. Interment with military honors will follow in St. Michael Cemetery, Stratford. Friends may call on Friday from 4 to 8 p.m. CTPost Legacy
