Samuel Perry Eakin, 79, of Harrisville R.D. 1, died in Grove City Hospital Thursday at 8 p.m. He had been a patient in the hospital for some time.
Mr. Eakin worked as an oil well driller for many years and was known for his work in the oil fields of this district.
He was born on June 29, 1868, in Armstrong County, a son of Perry and Sarah Ann Eakin, and lived most of his life in the Harrisville district. He attended the Allegheny Presbyterian Church, Parkers Landing.
Mr. Eakin, who was unmarried, is survived by one brother, Charles A. Eakin of Clintonville. The body has been removed to the Armstrong Funeral Home, Clintonville, where services will be held Monday at 2 p.m. Rev. Elroy M. Sayers will officiate and burial will be in Allegheny Cemetery.
