Betty Jo Briley, loving Mother & Granny passed away at her home Tuesday morning with her children by her side. Betty was born December 27, 1931 to Leland Paul & Mary Lillian Cooper. She graduated from Malesus High School in 1950. On July 14, 1951 she married Johnny Ray Briley. They were married 57 years & 1 week before his death 7/20/08.

She was a homemaker who was very gifted with her hands doing lots of cooking, canning & sewing over the years. Her sewing included beautiful curtains for several homes in the area, wrestling masks & outfits, which she thoroughly enjoyed. She crocheted up until about 8 months ago. She was a member of First Baptist Bemis where she served faithfully in the Bed Baby Nursery for over 35 years.

Surviving are her 3 children Danny Briley (Julie) North Vernon, In., Rita Briley & Freida Briley Ray (Ronnie) Jackson, Tn.

Grandchildren & Great-Grandchildren, Duane Briley (Dee {Cami & Zachary}), Jackson, Tn., Sherri Briley {Hannah, Haylee, Logan} Louisville, Ky., April Briley {Nathan & Seth} New Salisbury, In., Joshua Briley (Heather {Katelyn, Jason, Ava & Coltan}) Jackson, Tn., Alison Norton (Sean {Kobe & Forrest}) Murfreesboro, Tn., her sister Bobbie Cooper Estes.

Also proceeded in death by her first grandchild Danny Ray Briley, Jr., brothers C L Cooper, Harris Lee Cooper & William O Cooper.

Pallbearers- Duane Briley, Josh Briley, Nathan Wayman, Ronnie Ray, Richard Mullikin, Glenn Cooper & Eddie Estes. Honorary Pallbearers are Great Grandkids.

Visitation will be Thursday 4/27 from 5 - 8 p.m. Funeral Service Friday at 10 a.m. with Dr. Bill Sims & Bro. John Norvell. All at Smith South Jackson, Tn.
