Obituary of Margaret Tucker

Margaret Elizabeth Ayers Tucker, 97, of Asheboro passed away at the Randolph Hospice House in Asheboro on Wednesday, November 23, 2016.

Since Mrs. Tucker has requested only a graveside service, the family will receive friends from 5:30 to 7:30 PM Monday, November 28, 2016 at the home of Anita and Michael McFadden. Interment will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Covington, VA. on December 1, 2016 at 2:00 PM with the Rev. Russ Urban officiating.

Mrs. Tucker was born on August 1, 1919 in Daleville, VA the daughter of Samuel Emmitt and Drucilla Huffman Ayers.

Mrs. Tucker was a charter member of the Calvary Christian Church of Covington, VA. She retired from Roses Store, Inc. and had also worked for Stedman Manufacturing. After her retirement, she loved being outdoors and working in her gardens.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Tucker was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, Charles Roby Tucker, a daughter Carolyn Elizabeth, her brothers John and Melvin Ayers and sisters Carrie Norfolk, Mary Lee, Helen Quinlin and Kathleen Entsminger.

She is survived by her three daughters: Betty T. Wilson, Robbie Tucker, Anita Tucker McFadden and her husband Michael; grandchildren: Angela Calloway Roberts (Clay), James R. Calloway and Jordan McFadden (Danielle Chiasson); great-grandchildren: Chris Roberts (Lisha) and Cyndi Roberts; great-great-grandchildren: Christian, Abi, Tristan and Emma Duggins, Noah, Gavin, Keira and Alexis Roberts. She is also survived by her sister-in-law, Beatrice Tucker Waddell of Covington, VA.

Memorials may be made to the Calvary Christian Church, 1329 South Pond Street, Covington, VA 24426.

The family would like to thank Mrs. Tucker's neighbors: Eduardo, Adriana and Henry Ceiro as well as Mack Davis for their loving and caring friendship throughout the years. There could be no better neighbors than those who love and treat you as a mother and grandmother.
