Donald F. Trulock passed away on Tuesday, April 25, 2017, at home, after a brief illness.

Don was born on Feb. 10, 1927 in Cisco, Illinois to Earl F. and Clara Goodman Trulock. Don had four brothers, Charles, Chauncey (Edith), William (Frances) and Edward (Clara), and two sisters, Frances (Lawrence) Spoo and Marjorie (Don) Meador, all deceased.

He married Dolores "Dee" Simmons on Sept. 18, 1954. She survives. They have four children, Vicki Chapelle of Aurora, Colorado, Stanley (Sheila) of Glenwood Springs, Colorado, Doni (Mark) Brune of Champaign, Illinois and Ted (Debra) of Champaign.

Their grandchildren are Darin (Stacey) Trulock of Champaign, Colin (Katy) Trulock of Baraboo, Wisconsin, Brian (Mishelle) Yench of Aurora, Colorado, Denver (Stephanie) Yench of Aurora, Colorado, Kaisha Williams of Lakewood, Colorado, Marissa (Roy) Rice of Lakewood, Colorado, Matthew Brune of Wheat Ridge, Colorado and Stephanie (Mark) Thomas of Oak Park, Illinois.

Don also had 14 great-grandchildren whom he loved so much, Ashlee, Brandon Huntsman (step), Denver Jr. and Parker Yench, Kyle and Anna Williams, Morgan and Carter Rice, David and Lucas Brune, Jaden Trulock, Gracyn and Landry Trulock, and Eli Thomas.

Don joined the U.S. Navy in February 1945 and served in the Asiatic Pacific Arena. After his discharge in July 1946 at Great Lakes, he came to Champaign and attended Illinois Commercial College, earning a degree in accounting.

He worked as an accountant the rest of his life and joined the Champaign County Board of Realtors in 1972, operating his own real estate office for 35 years. Upon retiring from real estate sales, he was awarded a life membership in the Champaign County Association of Realtors.

Don loved to golf and played in a foursome Wednesday afternoons until he was 88 years old. His playing partners joked that if Don didn't arrive at 2:45 for a 3:30 tee time he was late.

He was the biggest St. Louis Cardinals fan ever, never missing a game. If the game was not on TV, Don would listen in on the radio. He was also a big fan of the Fighting Illini, both basketball and football, and an avid Chicago Bears fan.

Don loved God, his country and his family. He was always at his happiest with his family around him, and most especially with the little children. He loved to garden and was looking forward to planting in his new raised garden this year.
