LEWIS E. MANN DEAD
Cottonwood falls - Funeral services for Lewis Edward Mann, 80, of Cottonwood Falls, who died Saturday in Council Grove, will be held Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock in the Brown Funeral Home here. the Rev. Retha L. Sadler, pastor of the Strong City Methodist church will conduct the services. Burial will be in Prairie Grove cemetery. Pallbearers will be Robert Taylor, Keith Mann, Earl Mann, Vernon Wehry, Alfred Mann and Kenneth Wehry.
Lewis Edward Mann, son of the late Mr. and Mrs. J.Z. Mann, was born November 22, 1870, in Fremont township, Lyon county. He married Abbie May Eldred at Dunlap February 6, 1895. They lived on farms in Lyon, Chase and Marion counties until 1936 when a home was established in Cottonwood Falls. Mr. and Mrs. Mann observed their golden wedding anniversary in February 1945. Mrs. Mann and their oldest daughter Mrs. Stella Bates, preceded him in death.
Surviving are five sons, Fred of Florence, Kans.; Ralph, of Sylvia; Edward, of Washington, D.C.; George, of Los Angeles; Claude, of Norwalk, Calif.; four daughters, Mrs. Lillian Woodward, of Hoisington; Mrs. Lucille Wehry, Rosalia; Mrs. Edna Meeks, Sandoval, Ill.; Mrs. Rena Kiupinski, Bloomfield, N.J. Also surviving are 21 grandchildren, four great grandchildren, and one brother, Bert Mann, of Compton, Calif.
