Interred 10/26/1951, according to cemetery records. Note that his body and his father's seem to have been buried in this D.C. cemetery several months after their deaths in West Virginia. My guess is that Miriam moved back home and moved their remains to D.C.

Service will be al 11 a. m. tomorrow
in Simpson Mortuary Chapel. Rabbi
Louis J. Cashdan will officiate and the
body will be placed in the Spring
Hill Mausolem. The body will remain
at the mortuary until funeral time.
Dr. Goff Lilly, county coroner
determed the death as suicide due to
hanging. He said the body was
found in the basement of the
residence about 7 a. m.
A native of Charleston, Mr. May
was born Oct. 28, 1909. He had lived
here all of his life, and sterted working
in his fathers store at the age of 22.
He had been active in the business
19 years.
Mr. May was a member of one
of the city's most successful merchant
families. At the death of his
grandfather, near the turn of the
century, his father and uncles
established two firms, the May Shoe
Co. and the present Schwabe and
May men;s furnishings store.
Both businesses emanated from
a department store owned by Mr.
May's grandfather.
Mr. May was graduated in 1932
from the Yale School of Business
Administration.
He was a member of Yale Club,
Southmoor Country Club, Charleston
Chamber of Commerce and
Virginia Street Temple.
Surviving are his wife. Mrs. Leora
Qsgood May; two daughters, Ellen M.
and Sally Ruth, at home; and
his mother, Mrs. Miriam Behrends
May of Charleston.

Nov. 15, 1938 at the Hotel Schenley.
