LOCKPORT - Mrs. Catherine L. Flechsenhaar, 81 of 4055 Johnson Road, Town of Lockport, died today, (Sept 16 1968) at Lockport Memorial Hospital after a long illness.
Born in Lowville, NY 7, 1887, the daughter of Michael and Jane Carlin, she has been a resident of this city and a member of St. Patrick's for the last 61 years.
Very active in St. Patrick's church affairs, she was a member of many of the organizations there including the Alter and Rosary Society, Ladies of Charity, the Bishop's committee, the Sacred Heart League, the Blue Cross of St. Patrick's and Our Lady of Fatima.
She was also a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Ladies Auxiliary.
The widow of Charles H. Flechsenhaar Sr, she is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Anna May Penwright of Lockport; five sons, Richard J. of Knowlesville, John H. of Niagara Falls and George E., William F. and Mark R. all of this city; a brother James Carlin of Florida; two sisters Mrs. Margarette Martin of Ottawa, Ont., and Mrs. Grace Thompson of Buffalo, 19 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
She was also mother of the late Charles H, Flechsenhaar Jr.
Beginning today friends may call at the Prudden and Kandt Funeral Home from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. where services will be held Thursday at 8:30 a.m. followed by a requiem Mass at St. Patrick's Church at 9 a.m.
Burial will be in St. Patrick's Cemetery
The Rosary will be recited at the funeral home Wednesday at 8 p.m.
