Union Civil War Officer, Ohio Militia Officer. Born in Baltimore, Maryland, he removed to Cincinnati, Ohio in 1839. Bosley found employment in the post office and also engaged in the wallpaper business and held an interest in the firm of Sharpless and Bosley. He joined the Light Guard, a company of local militia for a short time and then became a member of the Rover Guards Militia Company. In 1855, he was elected as Major and became the commanding officer of the Guthrie Greys Militia Company in Cincinnati. He commanded the company for six years and resigned in 1860 only to rejoin the unit when the Civil War began in April, 1861. The Guthrie Greys offered themselves for service in the Union Army to the Governor of Ohio and became the 6th Ohio Volunteer Infantry. Bosley commanded the regiment until he resigned in 1863. He died in 1866 and is buried in an unmarked grave in the Masonic lot.
