Following is his published obituary published in The Danville Advocate, 21 March 1924:

Headline:
Daniel S. Wearren, well-known citizen, passed away this morning at seven o'clock after sickness of two months.

It is with deep regret that the Advocate chronicles the death of Daniel S. Wearren, one of Danville's sterling citizens. The deceased took sick the 16th of January and has been ill ever since, with the climax reached this morning at seven, when death ensued. Mr. Wearren was born in Lancaster and was in his 64th year. He moved to Danville about 40 years ago and has been well identified here since. He married Miss Amanda Hicks of this county and she, with three daughters, Mrs. Callie Linney, Miss Beaulah Wearren, both of Danville, and Mrs. William Silcox of Shelby City, he also leaves one brother, Clayton, of Jeffersontown. He was a lifelong member of the Christian Church and lived up to that faith, in the most exemplary manner. He was a fine husband, good father and staunch friend and as such will be greatly missed in this city. For a number of years, he had charge of The Workhouse and during his tenure the place was run in a high-class manner. The funeral will be held at the late home on Walnut Street on Sunday at three o;clock, and interment will follow in Bellevue Cemetery.
