Inscription

"He entered the employment of Dr. Robert R. Porter as coachman and continued in that position twenty years until Dr. Porter's death. Afterward he worked for the family until too feeble to do so any longer. In recognition of his great honesty and service for fifty years, this monument is erected to his memory by the family of Dr. Porter."
