Mr. Lafoe was born in Frankfort on March 18, 1943, to the late John Jett Lafoe and Janey Hatchell Lafoe Perry.
He was a proud veteran of the U.S. Army serving during the Vietnam Era. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and was a former employee of Golden Living Center-Frankfort and Walmart.
James was a member of Ninevah Christian Church and VFW Post #4075.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Margie Lafoe; son, Ben Wesley Lafoe; and brother, John Thomas Lafoe.
Survivors include his loving caregiver, Edie Pipkins; his son, James Lafoe, Jr. (Shari); brother, Douglas Lafoe (Mary); and sisters, Betty Martin and Mary Stocker (Bill).
Pallbearers will be Joel Corbin, Hannah Corbin, William Timothy Stocker, David Freed, Charlie Freed and James Thomas Lafoe.
