Born at educated in Lowell, he was the son of the late John and Johanna (Sullivan) Hallaren and was for many years an employee of the New York, New Haven and Hartford railroad until his retirement some time ago.
Besides Lt. Col. Hallaren, he is survived by his wife, Mrs. Mary A. (Kenney) Hallaren; two daughters, Mrs. Andrew Scanlon and Mrs. Victor A. Gelineau of Norton; two sons, John Hallaren of Washington, D.C. and James F. Hallaren of Lowell; and nine grandchildren.
