Bill died of heart failure in Carlisle Regional Medical Center, at the age of 72. He had recently moved to Carlisle for assistance and care for himself and his wife Lee. He and his wife formerly resided in Elkton, FL.

He was a graduate of Vincennes High School in Indiana and a retired employee of the City of Jacksonville, FL with 20 years of service as a mechanic in the Fleet Management Division. He was a veteran of the Korean conflict, serving in the Army, and was awarded the Korean Service Medal with two Bronze Stars. He was a member of American Legion Post 400 in Florida.

Mr. McCrary is pre-deceased by his father, Raymond B. McCrary, and survived by his mother, Mary (Moore) McCrary of Vincennes, a sister Marianne, his wife of 21 years, Leona Ellen (Cunningham) McCrary; and eight step-children - Leonard, Nancy, Myrna, Lynne, Marshall, Ellen, David and Elisabeth.
