Ryan Bacon, age 45, of Woodstock passed on April 29, 2017 after a valiant battle with Cholangiocarcinoma (bile duct cancer).

Ryan was born in Atlanta, GA. on September 25, 1971 to loving parents, William and Elaine Bacon. He attended Lakeside High School until he graduated in 1990 and then enlisted in the U.S. Army where he bravely served his country during the Persian Gulf War. While enlisted he attended and completed U.S. Army Ranger School. He was stationed at Fort Ord, California and at Ft. Lewis, Washington as a Corporal for the 2nd Battalion, 75th Ranger Regiment. Ryan was a God- fearing man who loved his family and his country with his whole heart. He was also a coach to many of our community’s youth. He loved all his girls and boys with everything he had. He celebrated with them, and was always there giving them a hug, or encouraging word, when they needed it. Ryan was a sports fanatic, as he loved football, baseball, and basketball. He also enjoyed the outdoors, fishing, and hunting. Ryan was truly a kind-hearted, gentle, giving man with an amazing sense of humor who fought so hard to beat cancer.

Ryan Bacon – loving husband, devoted daddy, dutiful son and brother, coach and surrogate father to many, honorable soldier, amazing gentleman. You are loved.

Survivors include his loving wife of 22 years; Kimberly, Sons; Jonathan and Justin, Daughter; Katie, Sister; Christy (Todd) Darnell, Parents; William and Elaine Bacon, Niece; Cora, Nephews; Austin, Mason, and Cohen. Several aunts, uncles, cousins, and countless friends also survive.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 3, 2017 from 4:00 to 8:30, and on Thursday from 4:00 to 6:00.

A Memorial Service is scheduled for Thursday, May 4, 2017 at 6:00 PM at Lakeside Funeral Home Chapel.

Interment will follow on Friday, May 5, 2017 at 12:30 at The Georgia National Cemetery in Canton, GA.
