Abraham married Augusta Jane Barnard in 1927. They moved to Douglas County, Missouri and had one child: John W. Dodson 1928-2010. Abraham's mother moved with them and stayed with them until her death in 1930. Abraham was a farmer. He and Augusta eventually moved to Mountain Grove in Wright County. He died there in his home in 1961.
