Wade W. Hovater, 84, of Chatham Township, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, March 22, 2001, at Lodi Community Hospital. He was born Aug. 18, 1916, in Tuscumbia, Ala., and was a Medina County resident for 46 years. Mr. Hovater was employed as a dock worker for Anderson Motor Service and was a security guard for RPM for 13 years. He was a loving grandfather and enjoyed gardening and fishing. Mr. Hovater served in the Army during World War II. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Essie Hovater (nee Phillips) of Chatham; daughter, Janice (Michael) Mangan of Chatham; and grandchildren, Mackenze, Shane and Erin Mangan. Service: 11 a.m. Saturday at Chatham Community Church, 6423 Avon Lake Road. Pastor Mark Teal will officiate. Burial: Chatham Township Cemetery. Visiting hours: 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at Waite & Son Funeral Homes, Medina Chapel, 765 N. Court St.
God Saw that you were getting tired
And a cure was not to be:

With tearful eyes we watched you suffer
And saw you fade away,
Although we loved you dearly
We could not make you stay.
