Chico Record, Tuesday Morning, March 19, 1918, pg 4 col 3: Long Illness of Paul Blasingame is Ended. Paul B. Blasingame, for years one of the most popular young men of Chico, died in Sacramento Sunday morning, at the home of his parents-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. H.W. Rivet [sic], 1237 P Street.

For more than a year he had fought the ravages of a most severe tubercular infection, and for the greater part of that time he had been bedridden. For several days it had been known that the end was near, and his mother, Mrs. Rose Blasingame, was summoned from Chico to Sacramento last Friday.

Members of his family in Chico were in Sacramento yesterday to attend the funeral services. The remains were cremated. His two brothers were unable to be present, Lt. Ralph K. Blasingame being with the American Expeditionary Forces in France, and Lt. Harris F. Blasingame being at Camp Lewis, Wash.

The deceased was thirty years old, a native of Georgia. When his family moved to California, he lived for several years in Gilroy, coming to Chico in 1903. Blasingame spent most o his boyhood and young manhood in this city, and his amiable character endeared him to a host of local residents. He had an excellent bass voice and was much in demand as a singer.

He was married about four years ago to Miss Mildred Rivet [sic], member of a well known Sacramento family. For some time before his departure from Chico three years ago, Blasingame was employed by the Northern Electric. He remained in San Francisco for a shot time and then moved to Sacramento, where he resided until his death.

Surviving are his widow, his mother, his two brothers, and the following sisters: Mrs. J.A. Peck, Mrs. George Matthias, Mrs. Henry Ballew, Mrs. D.A. Honodel and Miss Roberta Blasingame, all of Chico and Mrs. Malroy Enos of Sacramento.
