Zorene was born in Rockwall County, Texas, the daughter of Leander Lycurgus/Lacurgus Wooldridge and Zulah Hood Smith. When she was about the age of ten, the family moved to Kaufman County, Texas, the county where her mother was born. They moved to Sharp County, Arkansas about 1919, where her father was born. Here is where Zorene married Arden Elvis Johnson on 3 Sept 1922. Shortly after marriage they returned to Texas, where their daughter, Loel Marie Johnson, was born (Dallas) in 1923. They went back to Sharp County, Arkansas where their son, W. J. Johnson, was born in 1925. They returned to Dallas, Texas where their son, Johnie Edward Johnson, was born in 1927. In 1935 they were at Shreveport, Louisiana and 1940 at Ouachita, Louisiana. Arden worked in sales in the dairy industry. Eventually Zorene and Arden divorced. She remarried to James Critman Geter. Arden remarried to Emma Sylverine Martin and they were parents of Arden, Jr.
