Joe Fleming Kissick, 67, passed away Tuesday, May 9, 2017, at his residence.

Born on January 23, 1950, in Maysville, he was a son of the late Harlan E. and Virginia Carroll Denton Kissick.

For 31 years Joe worked as a senior mechanic and welder at the State Highway Department. He also worked at Farmers Stockyard and OK Stockyard in Maysville and worked for Kevin Boling Auctions. People knew him best for mowing local area yards and he was member of the “Lawn Mowing Club”. Joe proudly served his country in the US Navy and was a Kentucky Colonel.

Joe is survived by his wife of 26 years, Judy Lane Muse Kissick; his children, Darral Brooks and wife Trudi of Elizaville, and Michael Brooks and wife Renee of Wallingford; his grandchildren, Darrin and wife Brandi Brooks, Derrick Brooks and wife Madison, Drew Brooks, Joshua Brooks, Nicholas Brooks, Lucas Brooks, and Laura Brooks; his great grandchildren, Bentley, Gunner, and Isabella; his nephew, Chris Kissick and wife Cindy; his great nephew, Brandon Kissick; his sister-in-law, Crickett Kissick; and numerous cousins.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, H. E. Kissick, Jr.

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m., Thursday, May 11, 2017, at Boone-Nickell Funeral Home with Pastor Larry Ingram officiating. Burial will be private.

Visitation will be 7 a.m. until 1 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations are suggested to the charity of one’s choice.
