Daniel P. Mincavage of Naples, FL, passed away on Sunday, May 11, 2014 at the Frances Georgeson Hospice House after a long, courageous battle with cancer. He was surrounded by his beloved wife of 26 years, Joyce, and close friends. Dan loved the Lord with all his heart and was at peace.
He was born December 12, 1936 in Ashland, PA, the middle child and only son of the late Anthony and Mildred Mincavage, and was predeceased by his sister, Virginia.
Upon graduation from Ashland High School, Dan joined the U.S. Air Force and served four years active duty in Europe. He graduated from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor with a Business Degree in Finance and started his business career with Honeywell Corporation as a computer salesman and programming instructor for the Pennsylvania, Delaware, New Jersey, and New York region. He then was with General Foods in Dover, DE as Chief Information Officer of their Jell-O Division, Baker Foods, and Log Cabin Division; and later joined the accounting firm of Ernst & Whinney (presently Ernst & Young), Cleveland, OH, spanning 11 years as District Manager and advancing to National Executive, before forming his own national management consulting firm, National Systems, Inc. in Ann Arbor, MI. He remained President and CEO for 20 years. He and his wife retired to Naples in 1996.
Dan is survived by his wife, Joyce; son, David (Trixie) Mincavage and grandsons, Tyler and Devin and step granddaughter Brandi; daughter, Karen Mincavage; stepson, Bill (Janet) Gray and grandchildren, Audrey, Elena, and John; stepdaughter, Beth (William) Watson and grandsons, Ben, Wyatt, and Grant; sisters, Judy (Vern) Osgood, Alice Bucher, and Marianna (Bob) Hartz, and many dear nieces and nephews.

The family wishes to express special thanks for the care Dan received from Dr. Martin Nicolau, the nurses, and staff at Florida Cancer Specialists, and to his Avow Hospice team.
He was a member of First Baptist Church Naples, 3000 Orange Blossom Drive, Naples, FL 34109, where a memorial service was held.
