After she was widowed, Henrietta lived in the household of her son, Edward, in Fenton. She, then, accepted an invitation to live in the home of her daughter, Alice Johnson Phillips, in Toledo, Ohio. Mrs. Johnson passed away from the effects of cardiac asthma, complicated by the effects of bronchitis, both with a duration of ten days. Her remains were sent to Genesee County and laid to rest, in Fairview Cemetery, beside those of her late husband.
