Janette Amarine Bradshaw, 83 of Abilene, passed away on Tuesday, August 10, 2022.

A celebration of life will be on Friday, August 19, 2022, from 11:30 – 3:30 at Rose Park Senior Activity Center, 2625 S. 7th Street, Room B.

Graveside service will be on Saturday, August 20, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. at the Lakeview Cemetery in Winters, Texas. Arrangements are under the direction of Piersall Funeral Directors, 733 Butternut Street.

Janette was born on November 24, 1938, in Mason, Texas to O.B. and Nora Eva (Watkins) Amarine.

The family moved to Ballinger, Texas in 1940 and Janette graduated from Ballinger High School in 1957.

She married J.B. Bradshaw in 1960 and they moved to Abilene in 1966.

Janette was a devoted housewife and mother. Janette was a member of Hillcrest Church of Christ. Her favorite songs were Amazing Grace, The Old Rugged Cross, and If That Isn't Love. She was also a member of R.S.V.P. and the Benevolent Group. For over 25 years she would go to nursing homes to sing and entertain the residents there.

She loved to be around others. Janette always brought smiles to faces and could strike up a conversation with a total stranger. She was truly adored by so many people. For those who knew, Janette could tell you a lot of wonderful things about her. Many know that she loved to wear bows on her shoes that would match what she was wearing, she loved her red lipstick and her big earrings, and loved to tell jokes. She was a big sports fan and loved watching football and would sit on her front porch and listen to the Hardin Simmons football games across the street from her house.

Some of her favorite sayings were…"You can never do kindness too soon, for you never know how soon it's going to be too late", "We have to be careful in how we live, because we may be the only Bible some people will ever read", "I may not have it ALL together, but together I have it ALL", "Life is like a coin, you can spend it any way you want, but you can only spend it once," and "I get up, I dress up, I show up, I never give up and I never shut up."

Survivors include her twin sister, Janice Amarine of Ballinger, Texas; her children, Stephen Bradshaw of Abilene and girlfriend Julie Yagalla of Killeen, Texas and Shelley Bradshaw Cicalla and husband Will of Weatherford, Texas; 2 grandchildren, Kelsie Cicalla of Claymont, Delaware and son-in-law Tyreese Whitaker and Jordan Cicalla of Weatherford.

Janette was preceded in death by both parents; her husband J.B. Bradshaw; brother Dorman Neil Amarine; sister Mary Beth Amarine Granger and niece Melanye Amarine Smith.
